About
Housed in an award winning art-deco facility, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Eye at Colorado Higher has been the cultural center of the Pikes Peak region for most a century. With roots reaching back to the Broadmoor Art Academy, the Fine Arts Eye has striven to promote the importance of fine art from its inception in 1936. The FAC's museum boasts a large permanent collection of regional, national, and international artists and hosts an assortment of traveling exhibitions. In addition to the museum, the Fine Arts Heart too houses a Broadway-caliber theater with its own theater company as well as an established fine art school.

Only went and viewed the Audubon exhibit. We e'er look at the permanent exhibits as well because the discovery of a new favorite in the indigenous pots or southwestern early works and carvings are stunning.

Open to the public in 2021. The museum offers both permanent displays similar the Chihuly glass exhibit, only besides routinely offers many travelling exhibits, all of which have never failed to be interesting and often unique. The museum occupies two floors, a central courtyard, and an outdoor sculpture garden. Free parking is available across the street.

As of June one, 2021 the museum is airtight to visitors due to COVID-xix. I found this out by calling the number on the website. Unless yous accept certain authorities ID's, you must submit a visitor laissez passer request at least a solar day in accelerate by 1pm local fourth dimension, FYI.

I dearest art. I am an engineer, and an artist. I believe in instilling culture and the arts in children. Unfortunately, this is not a consistently kid-friendly identify. They accept a tactile gallery where everyone is welcoming to children, but if y'all get anywhere else, the docents ofttimes hunt you effectually, waiting for someone to do something they could reprimand you for. Rather than welcoming our family into the different galleries with gentle reminders, the intro lines were "don't bear upon anything!" and they literally chased us effectually repeating reminders even though all of the children were perfectly behaved. My kids were scared into crying (literally). Afterward having eaten luncheon in the courtyard and cleaning several of the table and chairs, and ever leaving a place cleaner than we notice it, it was really sad to exist treated this way. Don't even think most bringing sealed and closed water containers into the galleries, yous cannot acquit them through for convenience if y'all are old and in a wheelchair or pregnant with several children and things to hold and remember. (Although I am sure yous tin can drink vino and eat hors d'oeuvres in the galleries for executive parties!) Don't even think about discreetly nursing a baby or changing a diaper in a completely empty gallery. Information technology is sad that fifty-fifty on gratuitous days the art museum is generally empty. If the docents were consistently trained to exist kind and welcoming to families I am sure they could accept more than traffic. At this time though, if they don't want children in the museum, information technology might besides be closed to children and they tin exit but the tactile gallery open to all guests. Sadly, we had such a hard time the last fourth dimension we came, we are all also afraid to visit over again... nosotros heard the message loud and articulate: Nosotros were not welcome!

I take attended theater in New York and London, but tonights performance of The Audio of Music at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center was 1 of the best shows I accept ever seen. All of the performers were top notch, with beautiful voices, and the musical management was incredible. We are so lucky to have this theater in Colorado Springs. I can't await to run into the balance of the seasons performances.

We saw a operation of The Sound of Music here. Very well done. The talent was top notch. The theater is pocket-size which add a more intimate feel.

Went to a play at that place. They also have a museum with a variety of different items which change periodically. There are native american items and items from early on settlers and Spanish american parts of the regions heritage. If you lot go to a theater production you tin can get to the museum free. Next door is the Numismatic association then you lot can hands spend a few hours between the museums.

We started with reviewing their very interesting menu. Several items had a special twist or were something I had never seen on a carte before. I was very happy with my choices and was pleased that my French Onion Soup arrived hot. The restaurant was relaxing. We were non rushed and had a very enjoyable conversation.

A great medium sized museum with an emphasis on local and regional art that is well interpreted. Plus there are first-class special exhibits. For a few more days there is a terrific exhibit of clothing art.
